Try Scotland. Records of this era are fairly good. Probably if they came to Australia then they come down form those Craigheads who stayed in Sctoland in the 1600s, of which there were very few.

If no luck there, try the US. But would a US Craighead, after 200 years here, go to Australia? Dunno.

Scotland's likelier and as it's much SMALLER than the US it shouldn't take as long to check.
