CRAVENS-ATWOOD CONNECTION? Please Help!!!
I have a strong suspicion that I may be related to thefamily of Hannah (Cravens) and Wililiam Atwood of Laclede Co. Missouri.
Here is my dilemna:
My ggrandfather was born in Yellville, Marion Co. Ark in 1892. His name was Albert Cravens Atwood. His mother was Laura Fisk and his father was W. H. (Henry) Atwood. They married in Franklin Co. Ark 1889.
There was a fellow living in Yellville by the name of Albert G. Cravens. He was a town notable as he was a Confederate officer and later, a river boat captain and town assessor. I was wondering why my great grandfather was named after this man as there seems to be no family connection. Just because Mr. Cravens was so well known in town doesn't seem a good enough reason to name your baby after himLOL! I have never been able to trace anything on either Atwood or Fisk lines. The census I really need is, of course, the 1890 and we all know what happened to THAT one!
Hannah and William seem to be the only Atwood/Cravens connection I can find. They didn't live too far from Marion Co.
Please Please Please if anyone has heard of any of these people, give me a Christmas miracle and let me know.
