Mildred Narcissus (Sparkman) Crawford, 1923-2014

Mildred Narcissus "Millie" Crawford passed away at home surrounded by family, on May 31, 2014.

Millie was born in Hartshorne, Oklahoma to parents Giles and Martha Sparkman.Moving to California as a child, she lived in Modesto and was raised by an aunt and uncle.She eventually moved to Stockton and graduated from Stockton High School.

Millie married William Averal Crawford who predeceased her passing in 1988. Millie and Bill had 4 children:Bill Crawford (Connie), Linda Pole, Louise Keeler, and Donna Robinson (Ray).She is also survived with 10 grandkids, 9 great-grandkids and 5 great-great grandkids, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.The last few years she had a close friend and companion, Sam Cardinale.

The family is so thankful for Kathy Speth who provided excellent home health care for our mom in her last days and weeks.Her care and kindness was so important to our mom.We are forever thankful.

Millie worked many years ago for a couple of theaters in Stockton before going to work for Bank of America at the Stockton Main branch as a teller.She retired from the bank after 25 years of service.

In addition to her family, she enjoyed traveling, bowling and the many meetings and luncheons with her Bank of America friends and members of a widows club that she had joined.

Based on her wishes, there will not be any memorial service.Millie will be buried alongside her husband William Crawford at Park View Cemetery in a private ceremony.
