In search of the correct father of ancestor Peter Creamer. Was it Hugh S. or Henry Creamer? Am I overlooking the obvious?
Help me decide!
In my research I found a Peter Creamer in the 1850 Census Limestone County Alabama in the household of Hugh S. Creamer. That should be evidence enough but then I found a Peter in the 1870 census .....read on!
As stated in an earlier post the 1860 Census for Jackson Township in Ouachita County Arkansas there is a Peter Creamer living in the house of A.S. and Harriet Greer...not sure of the relationship or if in fact there is one.
I hope that this info will help someone and maybe somebody can help me with Peters correct parentage.
The 1870 census for Washington Township Ouachita County enumerated a P.N. Cramer in the household of J.H. Cramer. Also in this house is a Mary Cramer.... Peters mother or Aunt.
In the 1880 Census for Jackson Township, Nevada County Arkansas I found a P.N. Cremar as the head of the household with spouse J.A. and 4 children , one being Ida L. my husbands Great-Grandmother. Although we have been told that her name was Mary Ida. The initial L has often been for the name LEE in our family. In fact Ida named my husbands grandmother Dicy Lee.
The 1900 Census for Bridge Creek Township, Ouachita County Arkansas has a Peter Creamer married to Julia A. Unknown and2 children Array I. and Sidnie (y) A.(Albert?) Creamer. They were living next door to my husbands Great-Grandparents John A. and Ida Harrill (HARRELL).
In 1910 Peter N. Cramer and wife Julia are in Ward 4 of Union Parish Louisiana. Also is daughter Azly Cramer and granddaughter Hattie Herries (Harrell) the sister of husbands grandmother Dicy Lee HARRELL .
