It appears that the Delila who married Hiram was not a daughter to Aniel/Annuel [as spelled on his headstone] Wright, but more likely an older SISTER!
Annuel WRIGHT,; 12/11/1811; 8/23/1891 [Also headstone attests to d/m/y/ of b/d]
However, there’s no record of ‘Dicia’ and Greenberry having a daughter named Delila. Not that any census would ever be found to indicate who all her children were. The only thing would be a will from the mother or an estate document and I’m not sure that exists.
And – if you think that’s confusing – the bottom of page 119 and top of 120 – Aniel/Annuel remarried after death of first wife - to a Delila Jones Trainor, a widow [mother of Lavanche Jones Wright, wife of Greenbury, Wright, son of Annuel].. I think it’s self-explanatory on the ‘confusion’ part.
The [story] information I’ve found on ‘Dicia’ indicates “John Goldman was left with six children and Lodica Wright was left with six children.”
If I add Delilah, I may have one child too many or the story is erred.Dicia married Goldman bef 1820 [based on year of birth of ‘their’ first child in 1817, they likely married abt 1815/16]. Delilah most likely would still have been home, being abt 12 in the 1820 census. That was before household members were named in censuses.
There is no way I can contact anyone regarding the Goldman family to check the reference. It was posted, but no idea when the book was written [abt 1960's?] or how to contact someone knowledgeable about this book.
Anyone with information regarding the Delila Wright Crecelius, please contact me.
