My mother's mother was a Greenway (sometimes the surname is shown as GREENAWAY. Rosina GREENWAY was her sister - I was unaware of the Christian name ALICE as there was another sister whose name was Alice! The GREENWAY/GREENAWAY family home was in Skewen, near Neath. My late mother told me that her Aunt Rose (Rosina) emigrated to Canada in 1912 - she was supposed to have gone on the Titanic but because of illness deferred the voyage for 3 weeks. Through knowing my Great Aunt's likely age, I assumed she was married when she left Wales but none of my mother's family seemed to have kept in touch. I was unaware of the CREECH connection although I recall my mother and one of my cousins mentioning this name although never in the context of being a relative as far as I can remember. Family research has revealed that the Fishlock's and Greenway's (Greenaway's) arrived in the Neath area from the Bristol area with the Fishlock's having previously come from Wiltshire and the Greenway's/Greenaway's from Cornwall. I'd be very pleased to receive further information regarding the Canada story.
