The census records I have found below indicate to me that Velma Creed was the daughter of Thomas M and Martha (___) Creed. It looks like Thomas and Martha divorced after the birth of two children (Roy and Velma)and before 1910.Tom went to Texas, Martha worked as a waitress in Altus OK, and the children went to live with their grandparents, Robert C and Virginia Creed.Martha apparently remarried before 1912 to George P Jenkins.
I believe that Robert C Creed was the son of Stephen and Elizabeth (Tubbs) Creed of Tuscaloosa Co AL.I cannot explain why Robert is listed as being born in AL in the 1860 census, but in later census records his birthplace is given as GA.
Stephen Creed was born in 1809 in Orangeburg Dist. SC.I do not think that his parents have been definitely established, but it is quite likely that he is a grandson of the John Creed listed in the 1790 SC census in Orangeburg.
