I am descended from Killion Creek and his wife Margaret who lived in Bourbon County, KY by 1790.Various opinions exist concerning their prior residences--did they come from Lancaster Co., PA or Pittsylvania Co., VA?Was Margaret's maiden name Weitzel or Holloway?
Anyway, I descend from their son Jacob Creek. Killion and his sons settled into Indiana--Jacob lived in southern Indiana in Gibson County--that's why I was interested in the Jacob Creek in Shelby County, IN.
Evidently there is a document that Killion signed in which his surname appears to be GUNRIG.Others say his surname was originally GREIG which, with the hard German pronunciation, sounded to American ears as CREEK.
I just wondered if your Jacob Creek might not be a branch of Killion's family. Can you give me dates and other details for your Jacob?
