Hopefully this will assist researchers of Johannes KrickCreek and Rebecca Wicks KrickCreek who came from Lancaster Co., PA to Virginia. Rebecca Wicks DOD abt. 1799.
Johannes or John Krick which was later changed to Creek died Bef 1783 by estimate of several reserchers. He apparently didn't return from an engagement during the Rev War under Cpt Joseph Bowman in a military mission to Cahokia, IL.
The notes below are from Creek research John Hoff III and contained in Gedcom 27261:
Rebecca's will was written 8 Apr. 1799 and presented at the Oct. Court1799 and again in Jan. 1800.
!Greenbrier Co., VA. In the name of God, Amen. I, Rebecka Creek of the County of Green Brier and State of Virginia, being in perfit health for which I thank God and caulling to mind the uncertainty of human life and being desirous to dispose of all such wordly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with, I do hereby make my Last will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say in the first place I desire that all my just debts and funeral expence be paid. 2ly I give and bequeath to my son John Creek the plantation he now lives on containing one hundred acres to be to him and his hears for ever. Item. I give and bequeathto my son Joseph Creek the plantation he now lives on and also an entry which I purchased of james Boggs to be to him and his hears for ever. Also I bequeath to my said son Joseph Creek one hundred acres of an entry on the Spruce Mountain to be to him and his hears forever. Item. I give and bequeath to my son Jacob Creek one hundred and fifty acres, it being the tract of land I purchased of Alexander Stephenson to be to my sd. son Jacob and his hears forever. In consideration of the above legicies I desire that my three sons,viz. John, Joseph & Jacob, pay each of them sixty dollars to there four sisters six years after death in manner following. In the first place I desire that the(y) give ten to my daughter Ann Cigor, and ten pounds to my daughter Susannah Cigor and the balance together with all the remainder of my estate to be equally divided between my two daughters Mary Combes and Elizabeth Nicholas or their hears and I do hereby constitute and apoint John Williams and William Chenington executors of this my Last Will and Testament hereby revoaking all other or former wills or testaments by me heretofore made, in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this eight day of April one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine. It is also my will that if these my sons cant ay the cash it may be discharged with goods and merchantabelproperty. Rebeckah (X) Creek The will was presented during the Oct.
