Perhaps you can shed some light on Elmer CREEKPAUM, b. 25 Nov 1894, s/o Thomas Jefferson CREEKPAUM and Sarah BEASLEY. I am trying to determine whether he married Ruth FAREWELL, d/o Elmer Harry and Florence FAREWELL who lived in Washington state and California after about 1899.
Elmer CREEKPAUM appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Maxey, Crawford County, AR, as Elmer Creekpaum (son, 15, b. MO, father b. IN, mother b. MO, laborer-home farm) living with his parents T J Creekpaum (54, married 20 years, b. IN, parents b. TN, farmer-home farm) and Sarah (wife, 42, married 20 years, 8 children, 7 living, b. MO, parents b. TN) and siblings Emma (17), Loyd (13), Bertha (11), Isabel (8), and Sarah (4).
He was living in Ocholata, OK, when he registered for the WWI draft in 1917, stating that he had a wife and baby.
Elmer appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Bartlesville City, Washington County, OK, as Elmer Creekpalm (rents, 25, b. MO, father b. WI, mother b. MO, tireman-oil co garage) with Bertha (wife, 25, b. AR, father b. AR, mother b. NC) and Mary Creekpalm (daughter, 3, b. AR, father b. MO, mother b. AR). Also there were William H Dennis (father-in-law, 67, b. AR, parents b. AR, janitor-building) and Martha Dennis (mother-in-law, 63, b. NC, parents b. NC).
In 1930, he appeared on the census as Elmer Creekpaum (rents, 35, married age 21, b. MO, father b. IN, mother b. MO, farmer-general farm) with Ruth B (wife, 35, married age 21, b. MO, father b. US, mother b. IA) along with Mary A (daughter, 13, b. OK, parents b. MO). He died in March 1970 in Russell, Kansas.
Are Bertha and Ruth B the same person or did Elmer marry twice? Since he apparently remained in OK and KS, I am doubtful that he married Ruth FAREWELL.
Thanks for any information you may be able to provide.
