The source was Adolphus Owens' work, Anywhere I Wander, 1975. There were only 200 published and I was one of the original buyers. I've been updating and adding to his fine work. He couldn't make a connection between "Richard Creel of Mississippi" beyond his birth in SC about 1790. It is my belief that the SC Creels are descendants of John Creele of Virginia but that it may never be proven. The circumstantial evidence to me is overwhelming so I do consider myself your cousin even if our last common ancestor wasWilliam Creel(1703-1757, whom I think had an unrecorded son born about 1730 or 1734, very likely the Lazarus Creel who is in Robeson Co., NC(on the border of SC), for the 1790 census and whom I believe was the father of Richard. Thank you for the information.
