Joshua D. and John Thomas Creel were two sons of Benjamin Franklin Creel and Phoebe Dodson of Tuscaloosa Co., Alabama. After the fall of the Confederacy, which both served in the 27th Regt Ala Inf, they moved first to Illinois, where both met their wives - John Thomas married Mary (Ann?) Jane ORR, according to records, and Joshua D. married Elizabeth UNKNOWN. They then moved to Fulton Co., AR, where it appears they spent their remaining lives. Did you happen to record their children from the census? Were there other Creels there? There must be a family connection to the WOOD family somehow - did the WOODs come from Illinois? Was Elizabth a WOOD or did Mary marry a WOOD after 1900? Would like to see the census records!
