I am related to a William Crinigan who came to the US sometime after 1840. He was a farmer in Oyster Bay, Queens County New York in the 1850 census. He was married to Anna Lee, also from Ireland.I do not know when they were married. All of their children were born in Illinois and New York.Thomas was the eldest, William, Bernard, Patrick, Michael, and Elizabeth were born later, possibly all to William and Anna, although there was a second marriage to a Hannah who may have been some the mother of some of William's children. William's son Thomas served in the Civil War.
William had two brothers thatI know of, Bernard and Patrick. Both William and Bernard may have been in the Navy during the Mexican American War. Patrick, a Civil War veteran settled in Iowa. Bernard and William in LaSalle, Illinois, initially, although Bernard seemed to be in St Louis for a time.I am not sure where he ended up.There were other Crinigan family members who stayed in the New York area, but I do not know who they were.
