Croziers in Banbridge Co. Down Ireland
I have found more information about my Croziers who settled in Banbridge, Ireland, for all who are interested: The initial immigrants to Ireland was William Crozier who was the Clan Chief, his family and no doubt his followers. They moved apparently because of religious persecution in Scotland. The clan chief William had three sons John William and Samuel, I do not know their seniority. John inherited Upper Stramore, Samuel Lower Stramore and William inherited Parke estate. John had 6 sons and 3 daughters and died in 1734. He married Margaret Fraser who was related to the chief of Clan Fraser- Lord Lovat. John's 7th child was George Crozier, who married Martha Ledlie and had 6 children, their youngest child was also George, and he married Jane Elliot Graham, they had 12 children, Rachel, Martha, Eliza, Jane, Sarah, William, George, Thomas, Charlotte (my ancestor), Francis (famous explorer), Margaret and Graham. George was a lawyer and they lived in Banbridge.
