Thank you Betty...You were so kind to assist me. Yes as you say this Napoleon's parents are certainly an enigma...If the birth place in my grandmothers bible is correct as Wood County Tx.,I have some very conincidental clues as to who his parents may be..assuming that he is not the Napoleon B.Chumney/Chumbley from Mississippi....In the Wood County,Tx.yearly Tax Lists is a B.F(T)Crumley for the years 1852,53 and 54 in which a,"Medical Book" is listed as a taxable personal property item. The 1860 Texas Census for Hunt Co. has a Benjamin T.Crumley with a 5 year old son named William C.Crumley.The father is reported to have taken medical training in France.Perhaps this William changed his 1st name to Napoleon later in life..And you may recollect that Flotilla,as the informant on her brother Harry Gardner Crumley's death certificate, listed his father as a W.Crumley.,,,,Certainly this is slim evidence and requires much more work.
Thank you again,
Mike Thompson
