Madeline Crummy Coman, 87, of South Amboy died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2008, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy.
Born in West Orange, she lived in South Amboy for the past 60 years.
Before retiring in 1980, she was employed as an administrative secretary for Sayreville Board of Education for 20 years. She was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, South Amboy, where she served as a Eucharist Minister, was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, and Senior Citizens. She also volunteered as a caring listener at St. Mary's School.
She was predeceased by a brother, Jack Crummy; a granddaughter, Brenna, and a great-grandson, Michael.
Surviving are her husband, William J. Coman Sr.; two sons and daughters-in-law, William J. Jr. and Susan D. Coman, of Marietta, Ga., and Kevin M. and Julie Coman of Point Pleasant; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Michael Tedesco of Point Pleasant; a brother, Eugene A. Crummy of Parlin; a sister, Viola Crummy of Point Pleasant Beach; eight grandchildren, Christopher, Amy and her friend Kim, Keely, Tara, William Kyle, Courtney, Tierney, and Delaney, and two great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Christopher.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, from The Gundrum Service "Home For Funerals', 237 Bordentown Ave., South Amboy followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church, South. Amboy. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, South Amboy.
