It is so wonderful to hear from you.Ila Evelyn Cuchens Jones was my grandmother. She married Olen Chester Jones and lived in Freeport, FL.I have tried for years to get information about Granny Cuchens, but my aunts and uncles who have tried to do research said papers were burned at various court houses or other sites that might have legal documents.Their search has not provide much info at all.I looked on the internet 3 or 4 years ago and didn't find anything.Just recently, because of a rare genetic condiditon my granddaughter has, I've started researching family histories again per the request of her geneticist. He wants to find out our European heritage thinking her condiditon is related to a recessive European gene.
Do you have any pictures of Granny and Grandpa Cuchens? I have one picture of Granny when she was older and one of Grandpa Cuchens holding Jr. Cuchens, who is the oldest grandson, taken sometime in 1926.I haven't scanned then yet, but will do so and email them to you if you want them.
I am especilly interested in the Creek indian lineage that I'm told we have through Granny.Do you have any documentation?I'm trying to get copies of birth/marriage/death certificates as well as any other documentation, but this isn't easy.I hope I haven't set my goals too high.I've just sent off to the Social Security Administration for a copy of of the original SS-5 application. It will be interesting to see what kind of information the application will provide. How far back have you traced the family? If you want the info on my aunts and uncles and their children I will finish collecting dates on the cousins and send them to you.
Please keep in touch. If you would prefer, we can use personal email addresses, otherwise, I'll keep posting here.I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and have started a blessed holiday season.
In Family Love,
Terri
