Thanks for replying, but I believe your James Cuddy is different from my James Cuddy. I have followed your James Cuddy in the Pittsburgh census records and see that he is 20 years older than my James Cuddy. According to my research, my James Cuddy was born about 1797 in Ireland and came to Pittsburgh as a young boy. He married Mary Ann "unknown" from Baltimore about 1820 and together they had at least 4 children. The oldest son, William S. married Rebecca A. Forward about 1845, and that's who my husband is descended from. My James Cuddy had an iron business for at least 35 years in Pittsburg and was probably Presbyterian. He and Mary Ann eventually followed their son William and moved to St. Louis, Missouri about 1855 where he, his wife, and William and his family are all buried. I wish there was a connection, but at this point, I just don't see it. Good luck with your family research!
