Re: Curie family

I know it's been a few years but I'm curious if you found anything. I have a Jacques Curie, born around the same time, whose wife was Louise Frederick. His daughter, Susan Curie (5/21/1822-1/1/1911), married Pierre Nicholas Maillard Salin (1815-188) (or just Peter (Pierre) Maillard here) and they came to America in the early 1840s, possibly late 1830s, with his parents. Both children of Pierre and Susan were born here as they settled in Wayne County, Ohio.
I don't know if this is the same Jacques Curie as yours, but it's an uncommon enough name ancestry.com doesn't seem to have a board for it.
I don't know where my Curies came from, but Peter, while born in Haut-Rhin, Alsace, has a father, Jean-Jacque Maillard, born in Herimoncourt, Doubs, Franche-Comte, France.
Another clue would be religious background - the Maillards were Protestents and I would presume he also married a Protestant - so if you know if your Jacques Curie was Protestant that would be another clue that it's the same one.
