hi, not sure if this is going to help, but I have information about a family of CURTOYS whose son Joseph was most likely born 1804, maybe England, maybe Spain, or Belgium.
His father was Sir William or Guillermo Curtoys, but he was born in England.
Joseph Curtoys had a brother Joachim, and they were 17 and 18 when their father died in Rome 1826.The boys then lived at Frascati, and were obviously cared for by friends, 2 brothers Emmanuell and Antonie de la Torre.
if you think this might help, I have more.
judy
ps Curtoys can be spent many ways including CURTOYS CURTOYSE CURTAYSE CURTAYS CURTEYS CURTEYSE CURTYS COURTOI COURTOY COURTOIS CURTOIS CURTASS CURTISS CURTIS CURTIES CURTEIS and on and on I can go.Not even sure which is the right spelling either, but know they were a very old family in England, and well connected originally.
