Friday in the Grand Rapids library, found the 1810 Federal Census.What has not been told previously but found on that census was Emanuel Custer with 3 slaves.
1810Federal Census - Evitts Creek, Pg. 36, 1 male under 10[Joseph?] 1 male Of 26 & under 45, including heads of families [Jacob] 1 male 45 & upwards, including heads of families[Em'l] ========================================================== All other free persons, except Indian, not taxed - Slaves - 3[Emanuel Custer, Sr. owned slaves]] ========================================================== Also on the same pgl found John & Peter Custer, with Em'l Custer. found George Bruce, the census taker. My understanding of George Bruce was that he married Rachel Tomlinson. Dollie Tomlinson married Thomas Henry Custer.son of John D. Custer and an Essley.
