Thanks for these abstracts.Some thoughts/comments:
- I don't think the Ann Custis will 1780 Beaufort NC could have been Ann Keady Custis or Thomas Custis' wife because Ann Keady Custis was mentioned in 1785 in the will of Elizabeth Aldy (Oldy or Allday) and also an AnnCady Custis remarried in 1799 in Craven. She seems to still be alive.
- Maybe Thomas Custis was a brother of Anne Custis who married David Dunn in 1782 Craven.
- I think Peter Custis (being the bondsman for William Dunn)has to somehow connect to the Ann Custis who married David Dunn in 1782.There were two David Dunns...one was William Dunn's brother and the other was William's uncle.
- David Dunn Jr. (assumed to be the son of David Dunn and Ann Custis) named their oldest daughter Mary Ann, a name that had to come from the paternal side (doesn't exist on the mothers side).Maybe her grandmother's name was Mary Ann Custis (common name in the Custis family).
I'll keep looking and thinking. Thanks for this information.
