Daniel Dalziel b 1847 Wick, Caithness

I'm looking for any information on the above Daniel Dalziel who is my great great grandfather. His daughter Eleanor Dalziel married Joseph Pollard in 1896 in Birkenhead, Cheshire, England. Daniel lists his place of birth as Wick, Caithness in about 1847 on the 1911 Census in Birkenhead. I can't seem to locate his birth record in Scotlandso would be grateful if anyone could help.
