Re: Frederick Damman of MI
Frederick (Friederich) Martin Theodore Dammann's parents are Wilhelm Gustav Johann Joachim Dammann and Caroline Johanna Dorothea Krüger.
Wilhelm Dammann and Caroline Krüger sailed to the U.S. on the ship Vandalia, from the port of Hamburg, Germany, on
15 October 1882 in steerage. The voyage took 21 days. They entered the United States at Castle Garden through the Port of New York on 5 November 1882.They came directly to Zilwaukee, Saginaw County, Michigan and were married at
St John's Lutheran Church on 18 November 1882.
I know all of the information above from my nearly 26 years of research on the Dammann Family.
Wilhelm Dammann and Caroline Krüger are my great-grandparents.My grandfather, Heinrich Gustav Dammann, is the brother of your great-grandfather, Friederich Dammann.
I have traced the Dammann Family back to 1735 in Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany. I have traced the Krüger
Family back to 1723 in Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany.I've also found many other direct lines including one that goes
back to 1687.I have many documents of birth/baptisms, marriages, deaths/burials, census records etc back in Germany.
Apparently, you and I are second cousins once removed!I remember your great-grandfather.My grandfather was close to him and they were only two years apart, with my grandfather being the older of the two.
I am thrilled to have found you.I can be a great help to you and you can bring me up to date on your branch of the Damman Family. I have much to share with you.
