Re: Hello, Spilsby Daniel fans
I was going to propose the exact same track that Mary just mentioned. It's a lovely, very reasonable migration for Spilsby and then Marcus, from SE Missouri to NW Arkansas, then a hop across the border into OK, Marcus seems to stop but Spilsby went further westward into central OK.
Yes, there's an age change for this Spilsby and his bp toggles between TN and KY. This guy may already be known to be a different Spilsby, but he's not in the gedcoms out there that I could find.
The Civil War Draft Registrations Records, 1863-1865 show Spilsberry Daniel in Reynolds Co, age 40, b. MO.
A possible 1880 for son Howell is in KS Cherokee, Lyon:
Howell Daniels 22 MO KY KY
Nancy J. 20 MO TN KY
Haley C. 2 KS MO MO
The Philly Daniels in 1880 AR Benton can almost be seen as Philby, but I think he proves to be Spilsby in 1900 with a new wife, unfortunately no crossover children in 1900 from the earlier family:
1880 AR Benton
Philly Daniels 49 KY -- --, he has a tick in the married and the widowed column, cool.
Amanda 36 VA VA
Markus L. 15 MO KY KY
Saphrona 13 MO KY KY
John 12 MO KY KY
Markus and John are good, but drat, who/where was Saphrona in 1870?
1900 OK Lincoln
Spilby [sic] Daniel 67 b. Jul 1833, KY TN TN, md. 15y
Martha A. 45 , md. 15y 5/5 chn
James 14 AR KY IA
Maud 12 MO KY IA
Birdia M. 9 MO KY IA
Mattie 5 AR KY IA
Lass G. 3 AR KY IA
1900 AR Benton
Marcus L. 36 b. Sep 1864, MO KY KY, md. 17y
wf is Louvina K, 9/7 chn
7 chn listed no real namesakes to help, maybe son John F. is for his uncle.
also mo-in-law Lu-ise C. Pointer
Marcus and family still in AR Benton. His bps are now MO TN TN.
Son John F(ranklin) is next door and md, he's got a WW1 registration card.
Marcus and family in OK Adair (just over the border and a bit south from Benton). In these his bps are MO TN TN.
Tons of the members of this family are in the Bell Cemetery at findagrave; Siloam Springs in AR Benton and West Siloam Springs in OK Adair cross the border with each other.
