Re: New England Darlings with fun names!
Laura,I found part of my info about the George Darling family of Lynn, Salem and Marble Head, in Essex Co., MA. It isn't what I wanted to share and I can't find the source from which I copied it.
1st there is a message from the forum by Lisa titled George Darling b. abt 1614 heritage. It contains the posts of others, Charlotte Curtis, Bill Martin and Bob Forrest.
Lisa said a woman in Scotland looked up the record of George Darling stating he was b. 16 Jul 1614, the son of George Darling, b. in1584--both b. in Lasswade, Midlothian, Scotland. The father, George, m. Isabel Muckle. The /scot woman who sent the message to Lisa was "Eileen", a genealogist. Also Our George was apparently a Passenger on the John and Sarah with other prisoners of war listed in the book "Scotch Prisoners deported toNew England by Cromwell" , by Charles Edward Banks. Reported in the MASS. History Proceedings, vol 61 Oct. 1928.
I have the estimated birthdates of the children of George and Katherine Darling, his will and court depositons he and Katherine made in Essex co., MA. Plus a statement after George died wherein John had written to James(brother) about John's daughter in the home of James. George had property on Coy Pond, and Katherine and some of the family lived [email protected]
