Re: Darnell - Riddle in Kentucky
Hi B.J., First of all I'd like to say sorry for taking so long to answer you.
I know I'm signed up for these messages to be forwarded (is that a word) to my personal e-mail.So I don't know what happened in this case.
Second of all, AGAIN I need to say sorry.I made a mistake when I said Phebe.I'm really sorry to get you excited if you were looking for a Phebe Darnall.
I'll start over and tell you what I have.
I have a little brown book that is called,"The Beauties of Chesterfield, consisting of Selections from his works.By Alfred Howard, Esq"
Ninth American Edition.
Philadelphia:James B. Smith & Co. 207 Market St.1850
Inside the front cover is written:
Presented to Penelope Darnall by her friend, William Morgan.
July 9th, 1853 or 58.(hard to read).
In the back of the book is written the name: John Morgan.
The book is in pretty fragile condition.
Now, about the letter.I have a good many letters that belonged to Benj. Franklin Hart, M.D.
I do believe that one of them is from a Darnall that calls him Uncle.I can't remember if the name is Phebe or Penelope.
Both of these names I'm finding in the family.
Benj. Harts wifes name is Penelope and one of their daughters name is Ada Penelope.
I'm hoping to find the time to go thru the letters again, for I have some other requests from the Harts and Tauls.
Would you please e-mail me so I'll have you in my personal system?
I sure hope this seems like a connection, because even tho I have these letters, I'm not sure how they fit together at times.
