Linda,
I descend through Josephs Guess B 1761, Fairfax, son James, son William, daughter
Julianne who was my GGgrandmother.
I believe Joseph Gist and Ann Simpson Gist
were our Josephs Grandparents, although
they could have been his Grgrandparents.
Joseph and Constance Taylor married in Caswell Co., N.C., some of the Simpsons from
Anns family lived nearby, in fact Squire Swift, the man who preformed Joseph and Constances Marriage was affiliated with the
Simpson family.
The Gist/Guess family of Fairfax seemed to
include a Moses early on, too early to be
Ann Simpson Gists son.I wonder if he was
Joseph Gist of Fairfaxs' brother???
I also wonder who James B 1787 was named after??
Could Sampson Darrow have been a relative of
the Gist family??
Is anyone on this forum famliar with Sampson
Darrow??He is mentioned in George Washingtons papers.
