Re: Joseph Darsey Rev War
Those papers at Statesboro indeed pertain to Joseph Darsey, the Revolutionary War prison casualty.A lady in Savannah joined the DAR on these records by the middle 1950s, so there is appropriate documentation. You could look for Judge Huxford's "Pioneers of Wiregrass Georgia", also from the 50s, in which this family is throughly treated in some volumes.
I am a descendant from Joseph as follows:
III. John (m. Jane English)
IV.James Anders (m. Nancy Carter)
V.William Robinson (m. Aurelian Daughtery)
I would be interested in more documentation to establish the parentage of Joseph Darcy. So many researches get excited about the noble origins of this family that they totally skip verifying the actual links between Joseph and his Anglo-Norman ancestors. We're only talking about a couple of generations...
My great-grandmother was a lifelong genealogist on this and other families, and I have her papers, which include lots of correspondence with researches in Georgia.
