Hi, My mother-in-law is a descendant of Peter & Elizabeth (Dart) Stevens. I am trying to learn the identity of Peter Stevens's parents, but so far no luck! Peter was b. 1808 in Chester, VT., m. Elizabeth DART 1822 in NY. Elizabeth was the dau. of George Dart. From my records I show 14 children born to George: James, Christopher, Thomas, William (died in infancy), John, Joseph, (another) William, Hiram, Harrision, Mary-Anne, Elizabeth, Emily, Caroline (died in infancy) and Emery. Emery was killed at the Battle of Chickamauga during the Civil War on Sept. 22, 1864.
George DART is buried at Hope Grove or Shaw Family cemetery (went by both names)in IL. Peter & Elizabeth Stevens are also buried in IL. As of this date I have failed to locate ANY LIVING descendants of Peter & Elizabeth STEVENS.
Note:
1. I have additional info. on both the DART's & STEVENS's, but most are located in several places!
2. A Catherine YOUNGHEN seems to have been in the George DART household for many years. Anyone have any information about her?Pete
