Re: Datin Family Book
Contact me direct! Do you know anything about the history of the family in France? I have much inforamtion about the Duc d'Antin's mother Mme Montespan who was Lady in Waiting for King Louis X1V, which is mentioned in the Datin book and information about the parents of her Husband Marquis Montespan and her father Duc de Mortemart who was gentleman of the bedchamber for King Louis X111.I have found they were high in the Court during Louis X111 and Louis X1V's time but only know that the Duc d'Antin was decommisioned when Charles X took over as King.I would like to see if I am missing a gereration or two but have not started research in Normandy as of yet. I know about her siblings except one and know mother name but nothing about her family. It is said that the Mortemart's and Marquis Montespan's family have been there for many, many gererations. I have found a Mortemart from 1155 but do not know if he is related.Do you have any information about the family there?
Yes!The information that you mentioned is true and the book has generations to my husband's mother. The book mentions names of persons left in France but nothing about them.I would like to collect as much information about France as possible and see about writing a book number 2 about France and the generations after book 1.I plan to visit France soon to take photos of graves and ectDo you know of any addresses where I can write for information? There was to have been a Royal paper that Mr. Burt Datin had on file but have been unable to locate Burt's down line.Burt was born in Nauvoo, Ill and moved to Faith, SD where his is buried. At least I think his is buried there for there is a B. Datin who fits the dates.I have found information about Father Paul Datin son of Noel Datin who was sent to Canada to study the Frence/English language and ended up in the US.He died in Calfornia but I have not received a reply from the Catholic Church,as of yet.My husband's family is from Nauvoo, Ill where the Datin's settled and are buried.I am currently trying to trace one of the Datin's who moved to Salt Lake City with the Morman's but am not having much luck.I guess I will need to write to them directly and as for them to reseach it.
I hope you have a Happy Holiday and that 2002 is all that you would like it to be.
