James and Jane Daugherty family of Monroe Co., Iowa, 1830-1850
I am serching for others that might be researching the James and Jane DAUGHERTY family of Monroe Co., Iowa in the 1830's and 40's.The family lived in Pleasant Township. Children were, according to the 1850 census:
Mary age 17
William age 15
Elizabeth age 13
John age 11
Minerva age 9
Altamina age 6
James age 4
Nancy age 2
It appears that by the 1860 census, Elizabeth married a Richard MOORE and Altamina and James DAUGHERTY were living with them.Children of Richard MOORE and Elizabeth DAUGHERTY are Kate, age 1 and Oscar age 2/12.
I found William DAUGHERTY still living in Pleasant Twp, Monroe Co., Iowa in 1870, married to Martha unknown. They have two children. The older child I can't make out what the name is, but is looks kind of like Tucey. The youngest child was Elizabeth.
James and Jane were my ggg-grandparents and my line goes down through there son John of which I have a good share of his descendants.
