Debenham Surname DNA Project
A Debenham Surname DNA Project has been started in January 2010 with FamilyTreeDNA the worlds first and largest genealogical DNA company in the world. All Debenham and variants are welcome to take part in this exciting new project. Large groups of people with the Debenham and variant names live in England, Wales, Australia and the United States.Do they all descend from Lucas de Debenham who lived Debenham, England in 1165, or from a dozen different families that lived in Debenham when last names were decided by where you live, do the Sapiston, Redgrave and Bradfield lines have to same Y-DNA (common Ancestor). By using a simple DNA test we can find out which Debenhams and variants have a common ancestor. This technique allows us to identify which lines we are not related to as well as which ones we are. Only males with the Debenham or variants surname may become members. Females may trace their linage by having a male relative with the Debenham or variant surname take the test. Surnames in the Project so far are: Debenham, Debenhaim, Debenam, Debnam, de Benham, Benham, Benhaim, Denbnam, Dednam, Debnan, Depham, Debman, Dedman, Deadman, Dedmon, Deadmon, Deadmond, Dedmond, Dedmondt, Dudman, Deedman. I would like to invite all Debenham and variant surnames family members to get involved in this exciting new project.
