Hi-Regarding the Defreest houses, as a boy I was once taken to see a house once lived in by a relative Defreest. It was a small house whose distinguishing feature was a front door cut in two in the middle so only one half needed to be opened at a time, ie, a Dutch door. Am wondering if this was the RPI house??
