De Lacey/De Lacy.NZ

Am after anything to point me in the right direction for where Andrew De Lacey came from. Family say Channel Islands... no records ever found there on him... unless its a change of name?
He died 1893 in Carterton.NZ.
Any assistance would be appreciated thanks..

Guess the name derives from France originally...
I am researching into early settlers, Andrew being one of them, I ask where they came from... we are stuck on this family!!
