In Walter Washington De Lacy's biography it is stated his paternal grandfather, born in County Wexford, IR, was a descendent of Hugh De Lacy. Walter was born 1819, Petersburg, VA.I have posted this to the De Lacy message board.Thought you might be interested.

A portrait and biography/family history of Walter Washington De Lacy are included in "Progressive Men of the State of Montana". Parents: William and Eliza De Lacy, natives of Norfolk, VA. The paternal grandfather, born in County Wexford, Ireland, was a descendent of Hugh De Lacy, the first Norman governor under Henry II, in 1172. The maternal grandfather was William Charles Lee, long English vice-consul at Oporto, Portugal, and the West Indies.

Col Walter Washington De Lacy died 13 May 1892, Helena, MT.
