Hi

Hope this forum is still open. I am Catherine de Lacy my father was James Percival de Lacy. He was born in Dundalk in Ireland in 1906 one of 8. His father was George Percival de Lacy who was born in 1872 in the Cape of Good Hope South Africa whilst his father, James de Lacy, was serving with 86th Regiment of Foot. George and his brother James Christopher (known as Christopher) were admitted to the Royal Military Asylum in Chelsea London, as orphans in 1882. George left age 14 to join the 83rd Royal Irish Rifles and served in India and the Boer War being taken prisoner at Stormberg in 1899. He re-enlisted in 1914 and fought at Gallipoli and Salonika. James Christopher joined the 86th Regiment Royal Irish Rifles and then re-enlisted in 1914 into the Royal Irish Rifles and then the Royal Iniskillen Fusiliers being awarded a Military Cross in 1917.James Percival (my father) took part in D-Day in 1944.I am trying to do more research to fill in gaps. Bye Catherine
