Hello John
You have made this old woman smile :o)A photograph? Please send it at your leisure.
I have never been to Beverly but it is on my wish list.I had the pleasure of being invited to the DeLancey exhibit at the Priaulx Library in St Peter Port, Guernsey back in 2003 and had a glorious time.Sadly, since then my work schedule is such that finding several weeks to break away is impossible.
I have a question for you.I have been able to learn a tad more on Anna Maria's family -- 9 children by her husband, William:
1.Rev William DeLancey Lawson
2.Oliver
3.Emma
4.Henrietta
5.Stephen
6.Charlotte
7.Susan
8.George
9.Barclay
The Rev William DeLancey Lawson wrote a book on Arithmetic -- at one point was assigned to a parish in West Riding, Yorkshire -- and eventually joined with his sister Charlotte's husband -- the Rev William Smith -- in running a school in Bristol (in 1861) for school mistresses.
Barclay Lawson was a 1 LT in the Royal Artillery in 1837 and died in 1862 as a Brevet-Major.
I love finding out these little tidbits lololololGoogle is such fun!!But I have run into a brick wall when it comes to Charlotte -- due to not having her husband's first name.Any idea what it was?Is it listed on her memorial?Apparently it has escaped other historians also because he is listed just as COL Child.
Please do NOT make a special trip -- but if you are at the Minster can you glance over :o)
