Hey Jerry!
Here is what I've got!I found an Ellis D. MARCUS (D. is a middle initial, figured I'd point that out seeing as the surname has changed spellings and pronunciations in this generation.)I have his birth year as being circa 1790.I have him married twice. The first marriage was to Catherine ANTHONY, before 1812.The second was to Nancy PENDLEY, no dates with that one. This is all the info I have one Ellis specifically. This family is quite elusive!Father, William MARCUS, born in Burke or Warren County NC about 1751.Grandfather is Ellis MARQUIS, basically no info on him.I have no info on marriages, death, burial, etc on William.Ellis D. had 3 brothers:Solomon DEMARCUS (my line), Daniel D'MARCUS and John MARCUS.Like I said this family is very elusive, and I don't know if this is the info that will help you with your search. But it is the closest I have and I do beleive it to be true.Let me know how things go!!!
Lesley
