I'm not sure if there's a connection...but my gggrandfather was Daniel Marcus who lived in Rabun County, GA for a time.I'm thinking that his father could be the Daniel D'Marcus that was listed in your posting?Let me know what you think.By the way, the story that I heard is that someone told an ancestor D'Marcus that the name sounded too fancy for the mountains in which they lived, so they made it just plain Marcus.Don't know if that's a fact or not.In the old family Bible that a distant cousin sent me a transcription of, it reads:
