John L. DeMoss (died1863) - Civil War Gravesite
I am the g-g-g-g-g-grandson of John L. DeMoss, who died in 1863.I just visited his gravesite at the Stone's River TN National Park.Last time I'd seen it was 35 years ago, but the marker is in good shape and is one of the very few non-US Gov't issues stones among the thousands of dead.He died from disease some months after the battle. The "Army of the Cumberland" had won Shiloh and then Stone's River, but encamped for 6 months of misery.
If anyone wants photos of the site and his headstone, email me at [email protected], and I'll gladly send them your way.
Blessings,
Vinson+
