I am very confused and even with the help of an English-French Dictionary I am still just as confused.
I have the marriage record of Francois DESJARDINS & Marcelline BERTHIAUME and Francois states his parents are Francois DESJARDINS and Josephte GRATTON which took place in 1845 in St. Hermas, Mirabel.
I also have this record which took place In Ste. Therese De Blainville in 1834.This is the record that has me confused for several reasons. Francois states his parents as Pierre DESJARDINS & Felicite COTE.
1. It is only 11 years before the Marriage of his son.
2. There is a 2nd Degree Dispensation in this marriage record and I haven't been able to figure out why.
Could the Dispensation been put in there because they werent officially married for years and had children????
Is there anyone out there that has run into this before, is there a mistake in parent names??? Or did his son really get married when he was 10 years old and had his first child when he was 11 years old (Assuming he wqs the first child of Francois and Josette).
