Re: DEVLINS IN GLENLARK, TYRONE
Years later, if anyone is still interested... :-)
As far as I can make out, the Atty Devlins lived beside Master Bradley's.Arthur's daughter Bridget Devlin seems to be the only one who stayed at home; she married John Brogan around 1902, and they had four of a family in the 1911 census: Peter (7), Rosella (5), Cassie (3) and Arthur John (1 month).Around 1928, the Brogan property passed to Master Bradley, who lived next door.
In reply to Neil's original question, there were many other Devlin families in Glenlark and Leckin. Some of them were the Willie Pauls, the John Bans, the Micky Devlins, the Peter Roes, and probably others. No Devlins live in the glen now, but the John Ban farm is still owned by a Devlin, and some of the above families would have members in the wider district.
Hope this helps,
Ciarán Ó Duibhín.
