I descend from Daniel Dewalt through Rebecca who married John Smyly. Her mother moved with the Smyly's to Alabama.
I would be very interested in knowing where to find documentation of Daniel's birth and his mother's name and line. Do you have further information to share along these lines?

Since it has been quite a while since you posted this information, perhaps more has been discovered about this family.
