Elizabeth Diggle (b: 1895) - Western Canada Connection

By Debbie Lawrance April 20, 2004 at 08:48:24

My name is Debbie Lawrance. I am the grandaughter of Elizabeth Diggle who was born 1895 in Basford, Nottingham, U.K.All I really know is that somehow my grandmother ended up in Canada sometime. In 1924 she gave birth to my mom, Thelma (Diggle?) born August 11, 1924.Rumour had it that Elizabeth may have been single/unmarried at the time and perhaps there was some type of scandal involved?

Anyway, at just 18 months old my mom was given up for adoption (in early 1926) through a newspaper advertisement that Arthur Lovick answered. My mom's name was then changed to Joyce Eva Lovick and she was raised in New Westminster, British Columbia with the Lovick family.

So as you can see, my Diggle connections are very limited.I am so curious to know if I have Aunts/Uncles/cousins - ANYONE out there who is alive & perhaps even living in Western Canada?

Have any of you come across any living relatives, for example, sisters of Elizabeth who have had children and/or grandchildren (or perhaps even Elizabeth had more children & my mom has siblings somewhere?!?) that I may be an immediate relative of?WOULD LOVE TO FILL IN THE GAPS!

Thanks so much, all the best,
Debbie Lawrance,
Surrey, British Columbia, Canada
