Re: diggle. of north west uk
Perhaps my Great Grandfather is your George Diggle: see below =
Here is the latest information that I have been able to find out:
My grandmother:Lily Elizabeth Diggle, BD: March 27th, 1895.Born in Basford, Nottingham, England @ 20 Wicklow Street.
Born to:George Johnson Diggle and Elizabeth Diggle (nee Hudson) of Basford, Nottingham.
Again, all I know is that my Grandmother lived in Canada (Regina, Saskatchewan) sometime between 1924 and 1926, because my mom - Thelma Vera Diggle was born in Regina on August 11th, 1924 and then given up for adoption 18 months later to a newspaper advertisement in the Vancouver Sun, in the Province of British Columbia.Apparently my grandmother may have had to return to England and was, for one reason or another, unable to take my mom back to England.(My mom's name then became Joyce Eva Lovick, adopted by Arthur and Eva Lovick of New Westminster, British Columbia).Rumour has it that my mom may have had an older sibling who may have returned to England with my Grandmother?!!??
It would appear from the birth records that my grandmother was 'unwed' thus my grandmother's birth surname is on my mother's birth certificate.
I also think that my grandmother may have had a brother named Albert and he has a grandson named Mark Diggle who still resides in the U.K.
Still trying to find any living relatives of my mom's, for example, Aunts, Uncles, cousins...anyone!
Any ideas of how to pursue things from here?
Thanks so very much to all of you.I very much appreciate your support, guidance & kindness!
