Dillman Family Assoc. Newsletter
The Dillman Family Association decided in August 2008 to issue a quarterly newsletter. It is called "Dillman Descendants and Ancestors." This is NOT one of those generic newsletters where the publisher changes the surname to fit many families. We use information that we've gathered since the inception of the DFA in 2002. We collect and share info for every group of Dillmans and variations of the name we can find. This includes Dihlmann, Dillmann, Tillman, Dielman, Diehlmann, etc. It also includes the Stillman family from Canada. Our Dillman DNA study has joined a number of these researchers together.
The first issue included articles about the creation of the DFA, the Dillman DNA Project, a recap of the 2008 Mega-Reunion, and plans for a 2009 trip to Germany. Issue #2 included the first appearance of various Dillman spellings in Europe (starting in 940 AD), The Dillman-Dayga group, Dillman businesses, an update on the trip to Germany, and, different people providing different strengths to the DFA. Regular features are a listing of upcoming local Dillman reunions, family story corner, and reader feedback. We have a huge amount of information for many of the different groups and are always looking for new info and photos to add to out DFA library and memorabilia collection.
The newsletter is available to all paid members of the DFA. If you are serious about researching your Dillman or other family connections, contact me for info regarding membership to the DFA, our DNA project or just to say Hi to a fellow Dillman. Thanks!
