Amanda,I have heard that there is a town named after a Dilly/Dilley family....I believe it is called Dillville, but I don't know where it is.I am trying to find that info.I have noticed the family name is spelled both ways.I have seen documents for the same person using both Dilly and Dilley. This seems to be a common thing as it happens with my husband's Barnett/Barnette line as well as the Dilly/Dilley and with my Daugherty/Dougherty line.....my Lane/Layne line......my Head/Heads line....my Rawling/Rawlings line....my Mahan/Mahon line......etc!
My husband's Ggrandmother was Jemima Olive Dilly, d/o Isaac Dilly and Jane Teter Stonestreet.Jemima m. John Morgan Barnett.Do any of these names sound familiar to you?
Margie
