Origin of Disharoon name?
Hello.
Family documents handed down to my father, Fred Disheroon, indicate many Disheroons (spelled w/ an E) originated from two French Naval captains who emigrated to North Carolina in 1793, whose given names were William and John.Their surnames in French were Duchon, and they changed their last names to Disheroon after emigrating.John changed his to Disharoon, upon settling in MD, and William changed his to Disheroon, after settling in North GA.William seems to be the common ancestor for most of us who hail from Arkansas, Texas, and Georgia, among others in the deep south.
Would love to share my info and collect more as well. Please contact if interested.
