Re: Early Quaker Dodsons PA/New Jersey/Maryland
Missed your message from several years ago concerning the early DODSONs.
I have done extensive research on the Maryland DODSONs and have concluded that the Maryland Talbot County DODSONs were not descendent from the DODSONs from Knaresborough. This conclusion has been backed up by DNA testing that has been completed in the last year or so showing that the Talbot County DODSONs, the Virginia DODSONs and the Pennsylvania DODSONs were all from separate lines. The conclusion directly contradicts the DODSON Genealogy book published by EGE in 1908 -- you will find this book widely cited on the internet...
Here are the two research papers I published ~ 10 months ago on the extensive DODSON genealogy site hosted by Betty RENNICK (http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~wvpioneers/Dotson%20Links.html).
The links to the research are:
If these links do not work, then you can go to the main website page (shown above) and click on the tile called "Dodsons of Talbot County Maryland"
This research is all based on original records and (hopefully) logical conclusions.
I invite you or anyone else to contact me directly if you have any comments or questions.I'd especially like to hear from anyone in England who is a documented, direct descendent from the DODSONs of Knaresborough.
